I love this. Some people here are actually claiming that the spirit of EVE is to be lame. Congratulations. You failed in life.
As for the AFK Cloaking part. I agree with the Op, wether he wants help or not. Its way to stick your finger in the eye of an alliance or Corporation that has fought, bled and spent billions of ISK to build up their territory.
The last time this topic was at hand, I presented an idea. Cloak Inhibitor POS structure, that would work a bit like the Cyno Jammer.
Allowed to be build only in rank 3 or 4 Sovereign systems, the Cloak Inhibitor would send out a multifrequency jamming signal that would flood the system, rendering the use of cloaking fields inoperable (EXCEPT for the Covert Ops cloak, as its technology would be too kickass).
That would give an alliance the oportunity to further protect their key systems, so vital for economical stability (giving the new Sovereign system a further use), and actually force the lame AFK cloakers to put some REAL EFFORT into disturbing their enemies.

Pretty stupid statement. I might not have a reply to your pretype post series, but I still dislike AFK cloaking. And I am defenitly not a carebear, living in Catch and fighting McFIXBoBetcetc.
The only thing this tells us is who should just go AFK and who are actually interested in playing the game.

Who I am in game has nothing to do with this subject. Fight the subject itself. Do not try to use weasel tactics that mean nothing.
"Oh...and congratulations to you as well for validating the tactic yet again . If all it takes to shut your operations down is the presence of an unknown...well...ahahahaha ."
EXACTLY. All it takes is a handful of people who are willing to go to sleep while cloaked, go to work while claoked ETC to shut down ANYONES entire home system. That is EXACTLY why it is not balanced.
Ahahahahahaha....post with your main little lamb .
This thread delivers much cheese.
And weasel tactics? Oh...you mean calling *cough BS cough* your post anything other than a plea to turn EvE into something other than the high-stakes game it actually is?
I wonder how thrilled your fellow alliance pilots would be if they knew exactly who you really are:
"Oooo...Yellow Pixie posted again about cloaks" "Who?" "You know...the dude who rats or runs missions while we fight 'x' to preserve our space?" "Tool"

p.s. I am now AFK....cloaked...in your thread
So, what you want is for EVE to be highstake to the people owning a system, while it should be easy surfing for the cloakers? You, Sir, are a <beep>.
Some of us are advocating a leveled playing field, forcing threat on the AFK Battleship / Command Ship / HAC / etc cloakers, making their game have a risk and not just reward.

Yes, it is troll. Thank you for posting in it so it gets renewed and interest is kept up.
-- You fail --
Now, as for Pixie.. most seem to simply shut their eyes to the main point he is making. Key word: AFK. Specifically, long term AFK.
Save the Game, save the Servers and save the Environment. When you go to work, Log Off, turn off your computer and when you come back.. log on and play the game. Dont lame.

And the 1 hour AFK timer applied to ALL?
That already happens to me at times. If I leave my client untouched for some time (the times I have tried, I've done it longer then 2 hours), I come back and see the EVE client still on. But the moment I try to do something, it disconnects me.
The 1 hour disconnect thing is a good idea, but would most likely end up being a wasted effort. Too easy to get around using 3rd party software and similar methods.
No, I will hold firm to my idea regarding Cloak Jammers. CCP is already half way there having implemented the Cyno Jammer. :)

Is it that easy to implement 3rd party client side exploits? I rather doubt that. And that is CCP's problem to deal with (a simple client-side CHECKSUM on each log on would sort that actually...hint hint CCP ). Or the implementation of a VAC-type solution?
Cloak jammer? Eh? That I will 100% disagree with. Alliances have enough sov-realted cake and cookies as it is. If a cloak jammer is EVER remotely considered we better see non-capital jump portal generators as well [8)].
Oh, you mean like Jump Bridge generators, or whatever they are called? Allowing ships of all sizes to jump between POSes within an Alliances Sovereign space? :P
